South Shore Select was founded in December 1998.  An appointed initial Executive Board was established; by laws developed and game play started in the spring of 1999 with three teams.  An elected board of nine members serving two-year terms governs Select.  Positions include: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Director of Soccer Operations, Equipment Manager, Director of Tournaments, Director of Managers and Registrar.  Executive Board elections are conducted annually and approximately 50% of board positions are up for election each term.

            Currently, Select has approximately 400 players in the U11 – U18 age groups participating in the Massachusetts Premier League (MAPLE).  Approximately 200 additional players participate in the Select Development and Academy programs.  In South Shore Selects short existence, we currently maintain teams competing in Division 1 soccer in the U11 –U17 girls age groups and Division 2 U16 boys.  Select has 24 teams playing MAPLE providing a program where additional teams in most age groups support a continuous influx of players for our Division 1 teams along with a challenging environment to all players. 

South Shore Select also operates summer and winter academy programs for the continued development of players in the club.  Our college coaches participate in the academy programs along side our staff coaches providing an exciting and effective training program.
